PROMOTIONAL ITEMS- RESEARCH

Because I wanted items that were easy to post out and reflect my interests as an illustrator, I decided to look at making paper-y items such as zines or prints. I would also like to send things out as a set with a CV and business card included, in ready made up packs that I can ship off to lucky publishers/agents etc.

Mini Zines- Concertina books

I think these mini books are really eye-catching and simple to produce quickly- I especially like the little envelopes that the following examples have, I think this makes them seem precious and more like someone you would want to hold on to.

I think the simple and quirky dimensions of something like this would suit my illustration style quite well, as my work is quite whimsical and sweet.

Calendar

Georgie mentioned that an illustrated calendar would be a good promotional item as it is both practical and something that someone would look at everyday. It's also a chance to show off twelve different drawings. Making a calendar that clips together or can be pinned onto a backing is both easy and practical, and would mean that I don't have to mess around sending off to get one printed somewhere.

Collections/ Folders:

I would like to create not only a set of cohesive images but to all try and make a folder that they can all go into and be sent off all in one pack along with my CV. Below I like these as they all look like part of a pack and not just a group of random items put together.
