ABOUT THIS BLOG

For this module my blog will serve as a place where I can record all my research for promotional items and also record my research into websites and selling platforms. Visually I want to show different ideas I have found from other illustrators and designers, and also document my progress and thumbnails for my own promotional items. When looking at different websites and platforms I will use this blog to review each site and to discover why/ why not they would be helpful towards my own  practice.  I will also talk about my experiences with apps/ websites that I am familiar with such as Instagram and Etsy. As I go along I will try to define my practice and where I see myself within this profession, which may be difficult because I just want to do everything.

I almost expect this module to be like a bigger and brighter 'Professional Practice' module, just with more business cards. Where as last years module encouraged us to try different experiences to see what we liked, I think this module is designed to take those things we experienced and sharpen our skills in order to carve out whatever place we want in the world of illustration. This module also offers the opportunity to look at how we want to present ourselves as illustrators and to think about our (shudder) brand. For this module I need to think about my style and how it can be used/applied, try and apply in a way that is appropriate. 

I also think having a blog is a great way to just document everything, it's easy to write up ideas quickly and to save images that I find that are relevant to this module. By linking to Pinterest and Instagram, I can easily present a window to my ideas and what visually speaks to me.
