PROMOTIONAL ITEMS- POSTCARDS AND PRINTS

After making the calendars and mini books I wanted extra paper bits to go with them that could be posted out to clients. This is inspired partly by these mini prints that someone had with their business cards at London Illustrators Fair. I used illustrations that I already had, unlike the calendar and mini-book and creative CV where I created all new work.

I thought about using my Moomin paintings as prints because they have a lot of detail in them, show a character in a situation with a background- so has a narrative, and also because I love Moomins and this is mentioned on my CV- so it ties in nicely with everything.

I printed them out on a thick paper for sturdiness- and on the back I added the stickers that I also used for my brown envelopes, making sure that I remember my name and details are on everything I make!

Another thing I added were postcards- they're easy to use as 'promotional mailers', and also a practical item that someone might use and pass on to someone else. I used the snake image because it's very bold and also features animals- a theme that I have used throughout my promotional items.

I put my name on the front in white to stand out (same font as calendar/minibook/stickers/cv/business cards etc. etc.) Again, I think this kind of image is very children's book friendly (reminiscent of board games) and I would send this to children's book publishers such as Nosy Crow.
